DIRECTOR OF MUSIC AND FAMILY MINISTRIES
GRACE BAPTIST CHURCH

The Director of Music and Family Ministries will have job responsibilities divided between Music Ministry (45%), Family Ministries (45%), and General Ministries (10%).
Music Ministry (worship leader):
The Primary weekly responsibilities will encompass leading the worship services of Sunday morning and Sunday night.
Manage the music ministry and all the issues that relate to this function within the church including but not limited to:
Leading the Worship Service
Conducting praise band/praise team rehearsels
Planning, Arranging, and providing music to the praise band.
Organizing the Praise Portion of the Service
Coordinating with the audio and sound technicians
Managing planning center and other behind the scenes preparations for the praise service.
Scheduling and Organizing practices as needed
Scheduling and Coordinating special music
Occasional Small choir direction/conducting
The Worship Leader will meet with the Senior Pastor on a semi-regular basis so as to coordinate the needs of the music ministry with the administration of the rest of the church.
The Worship Leader will work with the Pastor and Church Council in scheduling music groups/bands periodically for worship service.
The Worship Leader is expected to participate in church-wide special services or ministries. If circumstances prevent his being able to attend, he is expected to provide a suitable substitute.
Family Ministry
The Primary Responsibilities are:
Children’s Ministry:
Develop, promote, maintain a vibrant children’s ministry (birth – 5th grade) designed to teach age appropriate Biblical truths to the result that children are led to trust Jesus as their Savior and Lord.
Oversee and give leadership in children’s ministries and programs such as Children’s Worship, Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and summer camps.
Youth Ministry:
Develop, promote, maintain a vibrant youth (Jr and Sr High age groups) ministry.
Oversee and give leadership in Youth ministries and programs such as Sunday School, Youth Group, Summer camps, and special activities.
Other Family Ministries
Other ministries may include Seniors, Nursing Home Ministry, Special Needs, Single Mom’s, etc.
General Ministries
General Ministries include all areas of Christian Ministry of which the church is involved. This would be tailored to the gifts/talents of the individual as well as the general needs of the church. This could include preaching, administration, maintenance, outreach visitation, and various other ministries.
Approximate Hours/Week: 45-50
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Required:
Ability to sing well
Good proficiency with guitar and/or Keyboards.
Comfortable with both traditional church music as well as contemporary praise music.
Three-Five years of involvement in music ministry (leader , member, or combination), or an equivalent amount of education. This can be volunteer as well as paid professional experience.
One to Three years of experience/involvement in youth/children’s ministry or an equivalent amount of education. This can be volunteer as well as paid professional experience (camp counselor, etc.).
Comfortable with computers and standard Office Software such as MS Word.
Willing to learn Planning Center, Media Shout, and Song Select software.
Preferred:
College Degree in Ministry or Music, preferably from a Bible College or Seminary
Three years experience as a worship team leader.
Three years experience in Children’s and/or Youth Ministry.
Experience with Planning Center, Media Shout, and Song Select software.

WORSHIP LEADER
GRACE BAPTIST CHURCH

Grace Baptist in Granite City is looking for a Worship Leader. This is a part time position (interim at present, possibility for perm later). Plans, organizes, and leads congregational music for Sunday Morning and Evening services. Acts as leader of the worship team (Praise Band, Audio/Visual). Organizes and prepares materials for practices; worship services. Comfortable with traditional hymns as well as contemporary praise & worship music. Basic computer literacy. Should able to sing well and ideally be proficient on guitar and/or Keyboards. Familiarity with sounds systems & church software (Planning Center, Media Shout, Song Select, etc.) a plus.
