The Marks of a Healthy Child: 1 John 5:1-5

14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. 15 For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” Romans 8:14-15 (ESV)

2. The mark of love
2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. 1 John 5:2 (ESV)

15 For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints, 16 I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, Ephesians 1:15-16 (ESV)

3. The mark of obedience
3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome. 1 John 5:3 (ESV)

1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; 2 but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. Psalm 1:1-2 (ESV)

4 Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4 (ESV)

4. The mark of victory
4 For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. 1 John 5:4 (ESV)
